Delete your Lawi account

This page explains how to delete your account in Lawi Ride (for riders) and Lawi Driver (for drivers), published by MAINSTREAM GROUP LIMITED.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open Lawi Ride or Lawi Driver and sign in.

2. Go to Profile & Settings.

3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out on all devices.

If you can't use the app

Email info@mainstreamgroup.co.tz with the subject "Delete my account". Include which app you use (Lawi Ride or Lawi Driver) and the phone number registered on the account. We will verify that the number is yours before deleting anything.

What we delete

Within 30 days of your request we permanently delete or anonymise your personal data: name, phone number, email address, profile photo, saved places, device and notification tokens and, for drivers, identity documents, licence and vehicle photos.

What we keep, and for how long

- Trip, payment and invoice records, without your name or contact details: 5 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations in Tanzania.

- Records linked to an open dispute, safety incident or fraud investigation: until the matter is closed.

After these periods the records are deleted.
